About The EP: “Winter Solstice”

“Winter Solstice” captures both the quiet beauty and the electric energy of winter’s longest night. Through delicate yet expressive piano compositions, this EP guides listeners across vast snowy landscapes, from the stillness of a frozen dawn to the excitement and anticipation of a winter storm. In some pieces, the music evokes the intensity of snow whipping through dark skies; in others, it settles, bringing you back to the tranquil glow of candlelight at twilight. Each track is crafted to evoke a different aspect of the winter season, balancing melancholy with hope and urging listeners to slow down, reflect, and embrace the winter’s contrasts. Perfect for those seeking solace in nature’s dramatic beauty, “Winter Solstice” is a musical retreat into the heart of winter.

The “Winter Solstice” EP was released on December 6th, 2024. It features titles such as Memories and Snowfall, as well as four new pieces: Solstice, Starlight, Family, and Moonlight that encapsulate the winter season. These 6 pieces make up the entirety of the album, but as you hopefully know by now; Moore Music coming soon!

Solstice: Capturing the essence of winter’s longest night. It’s a powerful, introspective piece that sets the tone for the journey.

Memories: Written in memory of my late Grandma as well as a reflection of my life; the past, the present, and how to go on into the future.

Starlight: This track feels expansive and mystical, evoking the vastness of a winter sky filled with stars. It’s delicate and shimmering, like the quiet brilliance of stars on a clear night.

Snowfall: A piece that I wrote which encapsulates bringing light and warmth to the dark world that we live in. Even when we are surrounded by a blizzard with no real end in sight, there’s always a light that shines in the darkness and guides us…

Family: A warm, comforting piece that brings to mind the closeness of loved ones and the joy of shared moments. It’s soothing and grounding, celebrating togetherness and belonging.

Moonlight: This final track closes the EP with cinematic beauty, blending sweeping orchestral melodies that journey through moonlit, snow-covered landscapes. It captures winter’s majesty and wonder, leaving listeners with a deep sense of peace and hope.

Sound and Style

The sound of Winter Solstice weaves together elements of Neo-Classical, Easy-Listening, Holiday, and a touch of Cinematic, with each song offering a distinct flavor. From the intense buildup in Solstice to the lighter, more introspective harmonies and melody in Memories, the EP captures the essence of winter: cold yet warm and inviting; an overall dynamic EP in it’s entirety.

English: “The song has a beautiful atmosphere…It sounds original…a story, a soundtrack. the part at 02:12 very beautiful///. the saxophone fits very well.”

“Sounds like soundtrack music which could have fit right into a movie from the 80s or 90s like Rain Man or Forrest Gump. Arpeggiation of the piano chords creates an effective melancholy feel. Sounds like a clarinet playing the main melody which is quite soulful. Moore has talent and would fit right in as a film scorer.”

– Lewis Papier
